This time last week, team RPGCC were in Amsterdam for the IR Global annual conference. The conference this year boasted over 400 attendees made up of lawyers, accountants and tax advisers. The aim of the conference was to consolidate and build on our existing networks in order to help us service our clients more effectively and assist them in whichever direction their business is moving.
The event was a great mix of social and formal networking with the opening drinks held at the Stedelijk Museum. One of the real event highlights has to be taking in some of the iconic artwork, of course, as well as meeting new friends.
The main conference itself took place in the Okura hotel and as well as providing more opportunity for introductions and connections, it also gave center stage to the event sponsors and guests. The conference highlight was without doubt the session by the ex-Dutch national hockey team coach, Marc Lammers who was both a passionate and energetic speaker. The key message for his session was around the concept of constant improvement – not taking part (working) to win but to continuously grow, improve and challenge. The delegates in the room agreed that if we all adopted this attitude and mindset every day, it is difficult to see how we would fail to succeed.
As team RPGCC return we bring with us a renewed energy, an enlarged list of international contacts in the professional service industry, wonderful memories and now, with a week’s worth of good sleep behind us, the desire to take all Amsterdam had to offer, forward.
If you or your business needs help across international borders, please feel free to contact us.
